David Beckham signed a five-year contract worth more than $250 million to join the Los Angeles Galaxy, making him the highest-paid player in team sports.

Wow! Beckham is very expensive player. It's good to hear that the galaxy can afford to pay him such amount. Do you think Beckham deserves it?
I find it hard to grasp how that amount is justified, but the league definitely stands to benefit from his presence in it. I guess the people paying him can afford to do it.

It will probably still be a long time before the team profits from the purchase.
It's front page news here in Southern California, so the team is alaredy getting tons of publicity. Plus Becks is such a celebrity it'll no doubt results in increased ticket sales.
